Fortunata Insula (English spelling)

...This is a garden of everlasting spring where the daughters of Hesperos, the evening star shining in the western sky, protect golden apples with the help of a dragon. This legend was easily linked to the ancient Roman legend of Fortunata Insula (Island of Happiness), where the blessed dead were said to go. This is a common concept with the paradise in Buddhist thought, and since it was assumed to be in the west, it means that the Pure Land was also in the west.
