This refers to the appropriate measures taken to save a life in the event of a collapse or injury until a specialized doctor arrives or until the patient is taken to a facility that can provide adequate treatment. In serious cases where traumatic shock, cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, etc. are present, decisive action is required as the first treatment can affect life. In cases of cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest, artificial respiration and cardiac massage are performed.
