Born 17 July 1842, South Malling, Sussex [Died] April 10, 1917. Sussex, Wylie British critic. Professor of Poetry at Oxford University (1895-1901). His major work is the History of English Poetry (6 volumes, 1895-1910). He also edited and wrote the Collected Works of Pope.
