…When Christian theology, which had been linked to Aristotelianism since the 12th century, accepted the Greek view of the universe as scholasticism, the literature related to Plato and Neoplatonism, which had been rejected half-consciously, was translated into Latin in the late 15th century, mainly in Florence, and developed into a thought movement, and the worship of Helios (strong in Hermeticism and Neoplatonism) that was embedded in it swept across the Western world. M. Ficino, a leading figure in Florentine Platonism, wrote De sole et lumine (On the Sun and the Light), which set the precedent, but N. Copernicus was one of the people who was baptized by this new trend. It was rather natural that Copernicus and J.
