chin

Japanese: chin
chin

[Chin]
It is the part that protrudes from the center of the lower jaw, below the lower lip, separated by a transverse groove. In English, it is called chin, but in Japanese there is only the somewhat old-fashioned word "otogai," and in everyday life this part is often referred to, though imprecisely, as "chin" or "lower jaw." Inside the chin is a bone (the part of the mandible called the mental triangle, trigonum mentale), and the surface is covered with skin.
