Child ballad

...His collection includes 305 ballads on various subjects, such as the sacraments of Christ, historical events, outlaw tales, and love stories. These ballads are called Child ballads, and are numbered from Child 1 to Child 305. For each ballad, several versions, that is, variations that arose during the process of transmission, are listed. Of course, there are many versions not listed by Child, and many versions that arose after Child.
