Cavolinidae

…A general term for planktonic shellfish belonging to the Cavolinidae family, or one of these. Although they are snail shellfish, they do not roll up, and their thin shells are shaped like a turtle's shell. When alive, they swim with large, flat, wing-like lateral legs on either side, hence the name Cavolinidae or Pteropod.
