Catchline

...An introductory phrase or short sentence used mainly in print ads such as newspaper ads and magazine ads to attract the attention of the recipient (audience) of the ad and arouse interest in the body copy (text) of the ad or the product itself. This term began to be used in the American advertising world in the 1880s, and is also called a catchword or catchline. In print ads, it is displayed in large letters in a prominent position and becomes the axis of the ad, so it is often called a headline today.
