...Population: 145,000 (1992). The former name during the French colonial period was Cap Saint Jacques. It is located at the tip of a hilly peninsula with a highest point of 243m. When entering the port of Ho Chi Minh City by sea, one heads northwest from this cape and goes up the Saigon River.
