Grand Prince of Kievan Rus (reigned 1019-1054). He put down internal conflicts and expanded his territory by defeating Poland and the nomadic Pechenegs, but failed in his invasion of the Byzantine Empire. ロシアのキエフ大公（在位1019年―1054年）。内紛を平定し，ポーランドや遊牧民族ペチェネグを討って領土を拡大したが，ビザンティン帝国遠征には失敗。キエフにソフィア聖堂を建設し，ロシア最古の法典〈ルスカヤ・プラウダ〉を編纂(へんさん)するなど文化面にも意を注ぎ，〈賢公（ムードルイ）〉の異名を得た。→キエフ・ロシア
