One of the islands that make up the Geiyo Islands in northern Ehime Prefecture. It is located to the west of Omishima and belongs to Imabari City. Although it lacks flat land, there are many mandarin orange orchards and fishing is also practiced. The sea area between Omishima and the island is one of the main shipping routes in the Seto Inland Sea, and the Chugoku-Shikoku Ferry operates between Takehara City (Hiroshima Prefecture) and Imabari City Namikata (Ehime Prefecture).
