A genus of the orchid family found in tropical Asia, with about 20 species. It is generally grown in greenhouses with medium to high temperatures and plenty of light, and is irrigated. From spring to early summer, it produces 2 to 5 drooping flower stalks, each of which produces several to a dozen flowers. The fragrant flowers are pale pink or white, and many of them have distinctively shaped lips. The Japanese Nago orchid was once included in this genus, but is now considered a separate genus.
