Camargue

...Many of the high mountains, including Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe, have steep rock faces carved by glaciers, and glaciers still remain today. The Rhône River, which collects water from these mountains and flows down, is as fast as a Japanese river and carries a large amount of sediment, forming a delta area called the Camargue at its mouth, and while it has brought former ports inland, such as the town of Aigues-Mortes, it has expanded the land used for rice cultivation and grazing.

The climate of France is determined by the dynamics of three stationary air masses and the warm, moist cyclones that originate on the warm North Atlantic Current and move in succession from the west.
