Buchanan, JR

...the psychic act of touching a particular person's possessions, such as a watch or a photograph, and reading information about the owner from them. This term was coined by American scientist J.R. Buchanan (1814-99), and according to one experiment, one in ten men and one in four women have this ability. This ability is considered a type of clairvoyance, and is based on the parapsychological hypothesis that memories of past people remain in the surrounding objects, just like smells.
