District Court - Kusaibansho

Japanese: 区裁判所 - くさいばんしょ
District Court - Kusaibansho
A court established by the 1872 Judicial Duties Regulations. Provisions were laid down in the 1890 Court Organization Act. It was the lowest-ranking court at the time. Formally, it corresponds to today's summary courts, but many cases from the ward courts have been transferred to today's district courts.
