West African Pilot

…He was of Igbo origin and after graduating from high school in Lagos, he studied at a university in the United States and worked as a lecturer. In 1937, he returned to the United States and founded the newspaper West African Pilot, promoting the nationalist movement. In 1944, he organized the Nigerian-Cameroon National Congress and was elected chairman in 1946.
