Boyer, A.

…French grammarian and encyclopedia editor. He first wrote many grammars and pedagogical works to revolutionize the teaching methods of elementary education, but in 1852 he founded a publishing house for educational books together with Augustin Boyer (1821-1896). In 1865 he became independent and published the 15-volume "Encyclopedia of the 19th Century" in separate volumes, the first volume of which was completed the following year, and the rest in 1876.
