Epstein, Jean
Born: March 26, 1897 in Warsaw
[Died] April 2, 1953, Paris. French film theorist and director. He pioneered the fields of film philosophy and film culture theory from photogenic theory, and as an avant-garde film director he left behind masterpieces such as La Chute de la Maison Usher (1926). His major works include Bonjour (Good afternoon, cinema), Cinéma (21), and Esprit du Cinéma (The Spirit of Cinema) (55).
