It is located at the back of a wadi (dry valley) that opens to the north just behind the cliffs of Deir al-Bahri, on the edge of the Libyan Desert. All the royal tombs of Thutmose I, the third king of the 18th Dynasty, to Ramses XI, the last king of the 20th Dynasty, were built there, except for Akhenaten, who built his royal tomb at Amarna. …
