A god in Japanese mythology. In the Kojiki, he is written as Kamimusubi no Mikoto and also as Kamimusubi no Omisora no Mikoto. His name also appears in the Izumo no Kuni Fudoki, where he is written as Kamitamami no Mikoto. The "musu" in his name represents the power to create and flourish plants. Therefore, it is thought that he originally deified the power to create plants, and in mythology, the original form of this god's name is well shown in the legend (Kojiki) that this god took the grains that grew on the corpse of a goddess named Okuma no Tsuhime and sowed them as seeds to grow. In the Kojiki, he is written at the beginning as one of the three gods of creation (the three gods who control the beginning of things) along with Ame-no-Minakanushi no Mikoto and Takamimusubi no Mikoto. He is a god opposed to Takamimusubi no Mikoto, who has a deep connection to Takamagahara, and is a guardian deity of the mythological world centered on Izumo. He was originally a god who originated in the Izumo region, and was probably incorporated into Izumo as Izumo came to the forefront as the core of the earthly world during the formation of the central mythology. However, in the Nihon Shoki, he is not given a clear position or an important role like in the Kojiki, and in fact, his name is only mentioned twice in the book, and he does not have a role to play at all. This difference should be attributed to the difference in the compilation policy of the Kojiki and the Nihon Shoki. <References> Kuratsuka Teruko, "The Izumo Mythological World and the God Kamimusubi" (Japanese Literary Research Materials Series, Japanese Mythology, I, edited by the Japanese Literary Research Materials Publishing Association), Kanno Shi Takamitsu, "The Accomplishment of the Kojiki" (Noritaka Kanda) Source: Asahi Japanese Historical Biography: Asahi Shimbun Publications Inc.
