Kitano Seibyo Horaku Waka

...There are many festivals, including a monthly festival on the 25th, and the Zuiki Festival on October 4th. As Michizane loved waka poetry, the Kitano Seibyo Horaku Waka was held as an annual event at the Imperial Court. Also, as it is said that Tenjin loved renga poetry, renga poetry was performed at the shrine from the end of the Kamakura period, and a renga place was established where monthly gatherings were held. [Architecture]
The current shrine building was rebuilt in 1607 (Keicho 12) by Toyotomi Hideyori with Katagiri Katsumoto as magistrate, and is in the so-called Gongen-zukuri style, with a worship hall (7 bays across, 3 bays) placed in front of the main hall (5 bays across, 4 bays), and the two connected by a stone room (3 bays across, 1 bay).
