...When backcrossing is performed repeatedly with the same parent, it is called the first backcross generation, the second backcross generation, the third backcross generation, etc., and these are expressed as _B1 , _B2 , _B3 , etc. Backcross breeding utilizes the principle of this type of backcrossing. For example, if you want to introduce a specific gene from another variety B into a certain variety A, first create an _F1 of A x B, backcross it with A, and in the next generation, select only those individuals that have the specific gene from B and backcross them with A again. In this way, by continuously backcrossing with A and selecting only those individuals that have the specific gene, you can introduce the specific gene from B into variety A.
