Aureomycin

...It has antibacterial properties against a wide range of bacteria. It was discovered that aureomycin, discovered by B.M. Dugger et al. in 1948, and terramycin, reported by A.C. Finlay et al. in 1950, shared a common chemical structure with four ring structures, and the name tetracycline was given to the common core. Aureomycin became a trade name, and its generic name was chlortetracycline, as was terramycin, whose generic name came to be oxytetracycline.
