...A cold-tolerant perennial plant of the Brassicaceae family native to southern Europe and Asia Minor. Its Japanese name is Murasakinazuna. The genus name is named after the French botanical artist C. Aubrie (1651-1743). It branches to a height of about 10 cm, and the stems grow in a creeping manner, with diamond-shaped leaves. Between March and May, the stems bear numerous small purple cross-shaped flowers, and at their peak, the entire plant is covered in beautiful flowers. Flower colors include purple, reddish purple, pink, and white, and recently a double-flowered purple variety has been developed. ...
