Atropos

Japanese: Atropos
Atropos

…Their name means “assignment” and they are generally considered to be three elderly goddesses, plural Moirai. In Hesiod’s Theogony, they are said to be the daughters of Nyx (Night) or Zeus and Themis (Law), and in Plato’s Republic, they are said to be the daughters of Ananke (Necessity). Both agree on the names Klōthō (Spinner), Lachesis (Distributor), and Atropos (The Unchangeable). They were thought to determine the fate of each individual at the time of his birth, from the various events in his life to his lifespan. Klōthō spins the thread of fate, Lachesis assigns his fate, and Atropos cuts the thread at the moment of death.
