anisakiasis

Japanese: anisakiasis
anisakiasis

...Adults are 60-100mm long. The larvae of these nematodes are covered with a membrane and parasitize the internal organs and muscles of horse mackerel, mackerel, herring, Alaska pollock, and Pacific flying squid. When these fish are eaten raw by humans, they invade the stomach and intestinal walls and cause anisakiasis. Gastric anisakiasis begins with sudden epigastric pain, nausea, and vomiting several hours after eating raw fish, and may resemble a perforated stomach ulcer.
