...They dig a horizontal hole about 1m deep into the bank to make their nest, and lay 5 to 7 eggs per clutch between April and June. The kingfisher family, Alcedinidae, has a total length of 11 to 48cm. There are about 90 species in the three subfamilies: the Crested Kingfisher, the Alcedinidae, and the Kingfisher.
