Angara shield

The Siberian Plateau is a vast hilly plateau 2,000 km wide, bounded by the Lena River to the east and the Yenisei River to the west, north of Lake Baikal. It is also called the Siberian Plateau, and was formerly called the Angara Shield. The bedrock of the Siberian Plateau is metamorphic rocks and granite from the Archean to the early to middle Proterozoic eras, but these older rocks are only exposed in the Aldan massif in the southeast and the small Anabar massif in the north. The rest of the vast Siberian Plateau is covered by sedimentary and volcanic rocks from the late Proterozoic to the Phanerozoic eras (especially the Mesozoic era).
