Abbreviation: NBR. Synthetic rubber obtained by copolymerizing acrylonitrile and butadiene, commonly known as nitrile rubber. A type of special rubber with excellent oil resistance. Researched and industrialized in Germany in the 1930s, it was initially marketed under the trade name Buna N, and later Perbunan. During the Pacific War, it was mass-produced in the United States under the name GR-A for military use as part of the government-managed Government Synthetic Rubber Program. 略称NBR。アクリロニトリルとブタジエンを共重合させて得られる合成ゴムで,一般にニトリルゴムnitrile rubberともよばれる。耐油性のすぐれた特殊ゴムの一種である。1930年代にドイツで研究,工業化されたもので,初期にはブナN(Buna N),のちにペルブナンPerbunanという商品名で市販された。太平洋戦争中はアメリカにおいて政府管理のGovernment Synthetic Rubber Programにより軍需用としてGR‐Aという名称で量産された。
