Kawachi Dynasty

Japanese: 河内王朝 - かわちおうちょう

...The 15th emperor. Son of Emperor Chuai, his mother was Princess Okinagatarashi (Empress Jingu). His given name was Hondawake. However, in the Kojiki, he is also called Otomowake, and was also called Emperor Taicyu. According to the Nihon Shoki, Emperor Chuai died during the Western Expedition, but was already in the womb when the Empress went on an expedition to the Three Kingdoms of Korea, and was born in Tsukushi after the expedition. He returned to the capital and became the crown prince under the Empress's regency, and was the first to ascend to the throne after the Empress's death, residing in Karushima (Toyoaki) Palace in Takaichi County, Yamato Province.

...Later, Hayashiya Yujiro preached the "Ojin New Dynasty Theory," which claimed that there were no emperors before Ojin, and Mizuno Yu considered the period before Chūai to be the "Old Dynasty" and the period after Ojin to be the "Middle Dynasty," and believed that the Kuna Kingdom, which fought against Yamatai, migrated eastward to form this "Middle Dynasty." He furthered Egami Hajime's horse-riding people theory, which claimed that the Yamato dynasty was born from the conquest of horse-riding peoples, and asserted what might be called the "Neo-Horse-riding People Theory." On the other hand, a theory also emerged that the "Old Dynasty" was in Miwa, Yamato, the "Middle Dynasty" was established in Kawachi, and the Kawachi Dynasty conquered the Miwa Dynasty.
