Konya has about 80 ruins, but none from the classical or Byzantine period. Most of them are religious buildings from the 13th century Rum Seljuk period. The most notable are Alaeddin Cami (1155-1220∥21), the largest hypostyle mosque in Konya, and Sahip Ata Mosque (Tekke Türbe, 1269-83), known for its excellent tile decoration and magnificent portal (pishtaq).
