Adhémar Esmein

French legal historian and constitutional scholar. His real name was Jean-Paul Hippolyte Emmanuel E. He was a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Paris and a member of the Academician. He lectured on a wide range of subjects, including criminal law, industrial law, legal history, constitutional law, and canon law. His major work in the field of constitutional law, Elements of the French Constitution and Comparative Constitutional Law (first published in 1895), is a classic that marks the establishment of modern French constitutional law.
