A port city on the west coast of the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark. Population 82,341 (2002). Aiming to restore the economy after the Second Slieby War (1864), the state built it as a trading port for Britain, and the population grew from just 13 people to 13,355 at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, it is Denmark's largest fishing port, and is also renowned as an export port for dairy products and other products.
