...In the case of guest gods, unlike the above two, they are enshrined in a corner of the worship hall where the main god is enshrined, or are called ``gate guest gods'' and enshrined in a place similar to that of a subordinate god, and are characterized by the fact that they do not yet have independent shrines. Examples include ``arahabaki gods'' in Tohoku and Kanto, and ``kadomori gods'' in southern Kyushu, but there are also cases where a separate shrine larger than an ordinary shrine is built to enshrine them. Guest gods are treated just like guests in human society, in that the local god invites visiting gods from the outside world and treats them with respect.
