Acetobacter

Acetobacter is a bacterium that oxidizes ethyl alcohol to produce acetic acid. It is classified as a member of the Acetobacter genus. The cells are usually rod-shaped, but when cultured at high temperatures of around 40°C, they tend to become elongated.
