Taboo words used by hunters and others. 70 to 80 words are known, and are kept secret from outsiders. Rice is called "kusa no mi", wolves are called "yase", bears are called "kuroge" and "yama no hito" (mountain man). In Matagi mountain words, there are also words borrowed from the Ainu language, such as seta (dog) and wakka (water).
