Japanese: 和気[町] - わけ

A town in Wake District in the southeastern part of Okayama Prefecture. Wake is located at the confluence of the Yoshii River and the Kongo River, a tributary of the Yoshii River, and the Sanyo Main Line station settlement (formerly Honjo Town) is located in the center. Wake was a post station and river port on the Sanyo Road. It once produced Hikasa paper, a type of washi paper used for Japanese umbrellas. Wake Shrine is located here. Saeki Town, Wake District, was incorporated in March 2006. ^{144.21 km2} . Population: 15,362 (2010).

岡山県南東部，和気郡の町。吉井川と支流金剛川の合流部の和気と，山陽本線の駅前集落（旧本荘町）が中心。和気は山陽道の宿駅，河港であった。かつて和傘用和紙の日笠紙を産した。和気神社がある。2006年３月和気郡佐伯町を編入。144.21km²。１万5362人（2010）。
