The region of space in which the planets of the solar system exist. The solar wind, the plasma that blows out from the Sun, flows at an average speed of 450 km per second. The solar wind is thought to blow in a spherical region of space approximately 100 astronomical units from the Sun, and this region is sometimes called the heliosphere.
