Russian-American Company (Robeikaisha) (English name) Rossiisko‐amerikanskaya kompaniya

Japanese: 露米会社 - ろべいかいしゃ（英語表記）Rossiisko‐amerikanskaya kompaniya

A state-sponsored company of Imperial Russia. It was established with the objectives of managing colonies in North America (Alaska) and developing trade in the Far East and the North Pacific. It was founded in 1799 with its headquarters in Irkutsk, but moved to St. Petersburg in 1800. The government granted it the exclusive right to hunt fur-bearing animals and use and sell mineral resources in Alaska, the Aleut Islands, and the Kuril Islands, and shares were held by members of the imperial family and high-ranking officials. In Alaska, it established its base in Novo-Arkhangelsk (now Sitka), and under the leadership of capable managers such as Baranov and Wrangel, it made profits by competing with American and British traders.

帝政ロシアの国策会社。北アメリカ(アラスカ)の植民地経営と極東，北太平洋における貿易の発展を目的として設立された。1799年にイルクーツクに本拠をおいて設立されたが，1800年ペテルブルグに本拠を移した。アラスカ，アレウト列島，千島列島における毛皮獣の捕獲や鉱物資源の独占的利用と販売を政府から認められ，その株は皇族や高官たちが所有した。アラスカではノボ･アルハンゲリスク(現，シトカ)に根拠地をかまえ，バラノフやウランゲリといった有能な支配人のもとで，アメリカやイギリスの貿易商に対抗して利益をあげた。
