American film. The Unite. 1939. Directed by John Ford. Written by Dudley Nichols. Based on the novel by Ernest Haycox. Depicting a group of people riding on a stagecoach through the wilderness of New Mexico in the late 19th century, the film develops at a comfortable pace towards a massive Indian invasion, providing the thrill of an action movie. The role of Ringo the Kid, an escaped convict seeking revenge for his father, is played by John Wayne, who was an unknown actor until then, and he went on to appear in many of Ford's films. Co-stars include T. Holt, T. Mitchell, C. Trevor, G. Bancroft, and others.
