The wife of Ottoman Sultan Suleyman I. Mother of Selim II. Also known as Hürrem. Her birth and death dates are said to be 1500-1558. A Slavic woman who was captured and imprisoned at Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. Beautiful, skilled in music, and good at winning people's hearts, she enjoyed the Sultan's favor and became a central figure in the harem. She was a cunning, fiery, and nervous woman, and her political interference was an indirect cause of the decline of the Ottoman Empire. Her grave is located in the grounds of the Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul.

オスマン帝国のスルタン，スレイマン1世の妃。セリム2世の母。別名ヒュルレムHürrem。生没年は一説では1500‐58ともいう。捕虜となってイスタンブールのトプカプ宮殿入りしたスラブ系女性。美貌で音楽に堪能，人心をとらえるのが巧みで，スルタンの寵をほしいままにし，ハレム勢力の中心人物となった。性格は狡猾，気性の激しい神経質な女性で，政治介入によりオスマン帝国衰退の遠因をつくった。墓はイスタンブールのスレイマニエ･モスク境内にある。
