A ferry on the Tokaido road connecting Hachimanzuka Village, Ebara County, Musashi Province (present-day Ota Ward, Tokyo) and Kawasaki-juku (present-day Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture). In 1600, a wooden bridge was built over the Rokugo River at the mouth of the Tama River as part of the construction of the Tokaido road, but it was washed away in 1688, and a ferry dock was established here. In 1709, the shogunate gave permission to Kawasaki-juku, which had previously applied to operate a ferry to help rebuild the inn, to operate the ferry, and issued a notice of 3,500 ryo for reconstruction funds, as well as the ferry regulations and fare. The fare was set at 10 mon per person, 15 mon per load of luggage, and 12 mon for passenger luggage. As of 1812, the ferry dock had eight horse-drawn boats and six pedestrian boats on standby, and when traffic was heavy, hired boats were arranged from nearby areas. The ferry service was suspended with the completion of Sanai Bridge in 1874 and Rokugo Bridge in 1884, and was completely abandoned in 1925.
