Courtesan reputation record - Yujohyobanki

These are books about the reputation of prostitutes and entertainment. They are roughly divided into two types: the narrow definition of prostitute reputation and various secret explanations. The former began with "Tsuyudono Monogatari" and "Yonjuni no Mime Arasoi" in the early years of the Kan'ei era (1624-1644), while the latter began with "Hidensho" (probably written before the Shoho era). They are practical guidebooks to the pleasure quarters of the three capitals, namely Shimabara in Kyoto, Shinmachi in Osaka, and Yoshiwara in Edo, and some are entertainment books with a conscious literary form, as seen in the womb that gave birth to Ihara Saikaku's "Koshoku Ichidai Otoko" (1682). Representative works include "Azumamono Monogatari" (1642), "Togenshu" (1655), "Nemono Monogatari" (1656), "Shikido Daikyo" (1658), and "Naniwa Dora".

遊女の評判や遊興論を書いたもの。大きく狭義の遊女評判と諸分秘伝解説の2形式に分類され、前者は寛永(かんえい)（1624～44）の初年のころ『つゆ殿(どの)物語』『四十二のみめあらそひ』、後者は『秘伝書』（正保(しょうほう)以前成立か）をその始まりとする。三都の遊里すなわち京の島原、大坂の新町、江戸の吉原についての実用的案内書であるとともに、井原西鶴(さいかく)『好色一代男』（1682）を産み出す母胎とされるように、意識的な文学的形態をもつ娯楽読み物となっているものもある。代表的なものに『あづま物がたり』（1642）、『桃源集』（1655）、『ね物がたり』（1656）、『色道大鏡』（1658）、『なには鉦(どら)』など。
