Labor Newspaper - Roudou Shinbun

This is the organ newspaper of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea). It was first published on November 1, 1945 as Jeongro, the organ newspaper of the Northern Korean branch of the Communist Party of Korea. It is published daily and has no holidays. As the North Korean Constitution guarantees the superiority of the Workers' Party of Korea over the state, it is considered to have more authority than the government organ newspaper Minju Chosun, and the contents of its articles are treated as official announcements.

The newspaper is under the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Workers' Party of Korea, just like other major media such as the Korean Central News Agency and Korea Central Television. Each workplace holds a "reading meeting" to read the main articles of the Rodong Sinmun, and all citizens are practically obligated to subscribe to it.

It usually has six pages, but when major political events such as party conferences are held, the number of pages increases, and sometimes a magazine-like "supplement" is published. In 2011, a website (rodong.rep.kp) was launched. Since the Kim Il-sung administration, color photographs have been included in major articles, but the quality of the printing and paper differs between domestic and overseas publications, with the latter being of better quality. It is blanket size, and all text is written horizontally in Hangeul.

北朝鮮（朝鮮民主主義人民共和国）の朝鮮労働党中央委員会機関紙。1945年11月1日、朝鮮共産党北部朝鮮分局機関紙『正路』として創刊。日刊で休刊日はない。北朝鮮憲法では国家に対する朝鮮労働党の優位性が担保されていることからわかるように、政府機関紙『民主朝鮮』よりも権威が高いとみなされ、記事内容は公式発表として扱われる。

　朝鮮中央通信や朝鮮中央テレビなど主要メディアと同じく朝鮮労働党宣伝扇動部の傘下にある。職場ごとに『労働新聞』の主要な記事を読む「読報」会が開かれ、国民には事実上講読の義務が課せられている。

　通常は6面構成であるが、党大会など大きな政治的イベントが開催されたときなどはページ数が増えるほか、ムックのような「付録」が発行されることもある。2011年にはウェブサイト（rodong.rep.kp）も開設された。金日成(キムイルソン)政権時より主要な記事にはカラー写真が掲載されることもあるが、印刷や紙の質は国内向けと国外向けで異なり、後者のほうが良質である。ブランケット判で、すべてハングルによる横書き。
