A type of welding. It is performed by melting a metal with a lower melting point (collectively called solder) into the metal to be joined. Soldering is typically used when soft solder, which has a melting point of 450°C or less, is used. When hard solder, which has a melting point of 450°C or more, is used, a solvent such as borax is used and heating is performed with an arc or gas flame. For large-scale continuous soldering, furnace soldering is also used. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
