Pseudo-sutra (English spelling)

Pseudo-sutra (English spelling)
In China, the act of writing a work that imitates a classic text. Yang Xiong of the late Western Han Dynasty considered the Book of Changes to be the most important classic, and imitated the Book of Changes to create the Taixuanjing, and considered the Analects to be the most important text, and imitated the Analects to create the Fayan. Wang Tong of the Sui Dynasty wrote the Six Classics of Wang, including 25 volumes of the Treatise on Rites, 20 volumes of the Treatise on Music, 150 volumes of the Continued Book, 360 volumes of the Continued Poetry, 50 volumes of the Yuan Jing, and 70 volumes of the Psalms on Changes. These are the most famous of the pseudo-classics. Although the classics are supposed to be the works of sages that preach eternal and unchanging truths, some people, from the standpoint of Confucian orthodoxy, harshly criticize pseudo-classics, saying that they "do things without the facts."
