Born: June 13, 1874 by Maria del Rio Seco [Died] February 19, 1938. Buenos Aires. Argentine poet. He formed a friendship with R. Dario in the 1890s and contributed to the establishment of "modernism." As seen in his conversion from socialism in his youth to conservatism in later years, he had an extremely vigorous intellectual curiosity and a rich imagination, and wrote many works before he was criticized for his change of heart and committed suicide. His representative poetry collections include Las montañas de oro (1897), Los crepúsculos del jardín (Golden Mountains) (1905), Lunario sentimental (Calendar of Sentiments) (09), Odas seculares (Centenary Songs) (10), and Poemas solariegos (Old Songs) (28).
