Major agricultural events include the wheat harvest festival in February and March, the millet and rice harvest festival in May and June, and the potato harvest festival in November, as well as the pest control ritual called Abushibare (rice field clearing) in April and the rice sowing festival called Tanetori around the beginning of winter.
