Yongming Literature (English)

Japanese: 永明文学 - えいめいぶんがく（英語表記）Yŏng míng wén xué

This refers to the literature of the Yongming era (483-493) during the Six Dynasties period in China. Poetry was the mainstream, and its core members were the so-called "Eight Friends of Jingling," including Xie Yuan, Ren Fang, Shen Yue, Lu, Fan Yun, Xiao Chen, Wang Rong, and Xiao Yan, who gathered under Emperor Wu's second son, King Jingling, and Prince Wenhui. They gathered at literary meetings held at King Jingling's western residence and the prince's eastern palace to compose poems. Their poetry was characterized by beautiful expressions, skillful allusion techniques, and application of rhyming theory.

中国，六朝時代，斉（せい）の武帝の永明年間(483‐493)における文学をいう。詩が主流であり，その中心となったのは，武帝の第2子，竟陵王や文恵太子の下に集まった謝朓（しやちよう），任昉（じんぼう），沈約（しんやく），陸（りくすい），范雲，蕭琛（しようちん），王融，蕭衍（しようえん）ら，いわゆる〈竟陵の八友〉で，彼らは竟陵王の西邸や太子の東宮で開かれる文会に参集して詩を作りあった。その詩の特徴は，綺麗な表現，巧みな典故技法，そうして韻律論の適用である。
