Potassium phosphate (potassium phosphate)

Potassium phosphate (potassium phosphate)
The chemical formula is K 3 PO 4 . It is also called tripotassium phosphate. It exists as anhydrous, heptahydrate, and nonahydrate. The anhydrous form is a colorless orthorhombic crystal. The melting point is 1340°C. The specific gravity is 2.564 (17°C). It is highly hygroscopic. The solubility in 100g of water is 193.1g (25°C). Its aqueous solution is strongly alkaline. It is insoluble in ethyl alcohol. The anhydrous form is obtained by reacting phosphoric acid with a calculated amount of potassium hydroxide, evaporating to dryness, and then heating at 300-500°C. When crystallized from an aqueous solution, the heptahydrate is obtained at -13-45.4°C, and the nonahydrate is obtained at temperatures below -13°C.

水100gに対する溶解度193.1g(25℃)。
